ING announced at the beginning of this year, after more than 30 years, to replace the TAN code with mobile confirmation via the Mobiel Bankieren App. This is the standard confirmation method for confirming assignments in My ING. Already 3.9 million private and business customers use the Mobile Banking App to manage their banking business and this will only increase in the coming years. Of the private customers who use online banking, 78 percent now have the Mobiel Bankieren App to confirm assignments. For customers who do not have a smartphone or tablet to use the Mobile Banking App, ING will be using the ING Scanner from the spring of 2019 onwards.
