Cambridge, Nebraska, July 6, 2009 -Today, Pinpoint Network Solutions, a national provider of fiber optic and microwave transport, announced the availability of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) services on Pinpoint’s fiber optic network. The new product is designed to support carrier class networks, independent telecoms, large volume financial institutions, and high-bandwidth enterprise customers.
Of the new offering, Pinpoint Chief Technical Officer Ralph Armendariz said, “DWDM technology will allow us to be more flexible and competitive in both the long haul and local access markets.”
Pinpoint DWDM provides a fast, cost effective means for customers to respond to bandwidth demands and protocol changes without having to purchase additional fiber. Pinpoint DWDM also offers scalability, flexibility and the ability to upgrade by combining and transmitting multiple signals for simultaneous transport at different wavelengths over a single fiber.
Pinpoint DWDM also enhances security by creating a dedicated, private channel within an existing network and allows transport of Gigabit Ethernet, SONET OC48, OCN up to 10Gb, Alien Waves and 10Gb LAN PHY. The service is standards based to enable off network compatibility, is protocol and bit-rate independent.
